Life gives us different perspectives whether physically, financially, spiritually, marital, educationally and what’s not.
With the different perspectives come different journey and season of lives. What some are encountering now may have happened to others some years before now and for others, it is still going to happen to them. Such is the complexity of life we have found ourselves. From life, come success, joy, pain, delay, disappointment, worries, fear, discouragement, and promotion amongst others.
When the positive phenomenon happens, we are glad and can easily identify with this. What happens when is the negative aspect that rears its ugly head?
What happens when wherever we turn, we get tired of the situation and cannot seem to move forward? When all avenues to make something of life get muddled up and we feel we are in a snare. It can only be natural to get fearful and be frustrated about the turn of events.
How then do we change the situation and turn it around to our advantage?
Satan’s favorite tool to discourage us is to reduce the level of our faith and increase the level of our fear of failure or fear to start something at all. We just need to move forward. Failing itself is not the problem but the fear of it can hypnotize someone to a conscious state of paralysis.
How then can we work on ourselves so that we eliminate this behemoth?
- Review your situation:
Think about what has brought you to this state and learn the lessons from the mistakes. What are pitfalls that are likely to happen and how do we recognize the warning signs.
- Redefine failure:
Failure is not failing to reach a goal.
Failure is not having a goal.
Failure is not failing to hit your target.
Failure is not having a target. Failure is not falling down. (Rick Warren).
Failure is refusing to get back up when we fall.
We are never a failure until we give up on the issue.
Failure is not trying and not accomplishing anything but it is failing to attempt.
- Stop comparing yourself to someone else:
The grass is always greener at the other side. We do not know the complete journey of life of the one people we are comparing ourselves with. We should not short change ourselves. There is always going to be someone who does something better than us, the same way we are always going to do something better than the other person. Such is life.
We have all been created wonderfully by God. He has given us the unique thing that makes us different. Let us find the strength to believe in ourselves and not allow the fear of failure hold supreme in our hearts.
What failures have kept you from pursuing your goals and dreams?
What’s your limiting belief?
